SLOTH BEAR

SLOTH BEAR

The sloth bear makes its home in the forests of South Asia. It usually wanders alone during the night time and makes grunt sounds looking for fruits and insects. They usually eat termites and ants, they are very good at digging them out. They have long curved claws which are good for digging into to rock hard nests. They have a gap in their front teeth which is good for sucking the insects out of the hole the sloth bear has created.

These animals don't just eat ants and termites, they also eat flowers and berries. Including mango, fig and ebony. Sloth bears are solitary animals and are nocturnal. They grow to 6 feet- in length, and males could weigh to 310 pounds, and females could weigh up to 210 pounds. When aggravated they react by standing on their back legs and displaying their scary claws.
