THE GIANT PANDA

THE GIANT PANDA

The giant panda has a huge apatite for bamboo. This animal takes 28 pounds of bamboo for it daily intake. Pandas will also eat birds and rodents as well. Wild pandas live only in china in remote mountains. They may climb 13 thousand feet in the summer to get to a better feeding slope.
Pandas like to eat sitting down with extended legs. These pandas are solitary and have a great sense of sell to avoid different males. After a few moths pregnant the females give birth to a cub or two.

There are estimated 1600 pandas left in the world. More than 300 pandas are in breeding cennters and zoos, they are always one of the most popular attractions. Much of what we know about pandas comes from studying these zoo animals, because their wild friends are so rare and elusive.
